I want to heavily second this request! In stretch-backports, we have 4.12 now, but as we are having quite a lot of Jessie machines, we are hoping for a solution for jessie, too (even if it were having 4.12 in jessie-backports-sloppy). FWIW, here is the same request from Josh in Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1676635 and that had already been closed some time ago.
