Dear maintainer,
I can confirm this bug on a fresh stretch installation.Looking at "scidavis_1.D13-1.debian.tar.bz2" from the package page, it seems to me that in the "install" file, a line is missing to copy the "scidavis/scidavis.desktop" file from "scidavis_1.D13.orig.tar.xz" to "/usr/share/applications/".
(I have very little understanding of Debian packaging, might be wrong) Best Regards T2
