Other than transition related fixes (if you can call disabling tests fixes), I don't think anyone has worked on pyside in a long time. You should consider it orphaned in any practical sense. If python-ghost can't use PyQt5 instead (some packages are written to work with either), then if you want to keep it in the archive, I would plan on packaging pyside2. Qt4 has been unmaintained upstream for many years and it needs to go. It does look like you're correct that pyside2 is being developed as part of the Qt project: https://wiki.qt.io/PySide2 Given that, we should have it in Debian, but I'm not likely to have time to work on it myself.
