Package: salt-common Version: 2014.1.13+ds-3 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
On initial install of salt-minion on a minimal Debian install (only extra package I had already installed was OpenVPN, to connect with the salt-master) none of the 'service' states were working. I investigated with salt-call to examine the state of the 'service' execution module and found that it was running commands piped to the 'col' command, which was exiting with code 127 (i.e. command not found) causing salt to see this as a failed command. apt-file told me that bsdmainutils provides /usr/bin/col. Installing this package resolved the issue. There, therefore, appears to be a missing dependency on bsdmainutils. Can this please be added to the package to prevent this happening in future?
