I think if it is important, it's poorly implemented in the existing init script (race). pmap_dump wouldn't be the problem, but pmap_set must not be called before the portmap service is available. Only the portmap daemon knows when this is, and ideally should provide a hook to run pmap_set or run it itself once the service is provided.
