Yes. hplip_info gave the answer without specifying any additional parameter.
Today I commented out my entry in /etc/hotplug/usb/libsane.usermap, restarted
hotplug (which did not mention libusbscanner as with my entry). Then I
entered:
$ scanimage -L
which gave me the following answer:
device `hpaio:/usb/HP_LaserJet_3200M?device=/dev/usb/lp0' is a hp
HP_LaserJet_3200M multi-function peripheral

scanimage did work also.

I have however now the problem that printing is not working correctly. I
submit one page using cups, the job starts and prints okay. But it always
stays in the queue and I cannot print a second job. The cups errorlog says:

I [16/Feb/2005:21:28:15 +0100] Job 186 queued on 'HP' by 'niklaus'.
I [16/Feb/2005:21:28:16 +0100] Started
"/usr/lib/cups/cgi-bin/printers.cgi" (pid=2936)
I [16/Feb/2005:21:29:42 +0100] Started
"/usr/lib/cups/cgi-bin/printers.cgi" (pid=2941)

Any clues?

Uninstalling hplip, adding the entry to libsane.usermap and changing
printers.conf back to the old value, fixed my printing problem, but now I am
unable to use the scanner. But as my PegasosPPC also has a parallel port, I
might try it to make printing and scanning possible.

Best regards
