Package: lightdm Version: 1.18.3-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
The permissions on /var/lib/lightdm/data/ are root:root 755 instead of lightdm:lightdm 750 on install. This breaks lightdm and renders the system unusable to anyone who doesn't know how to grab a shell via SSH or console TTY shifting. A simple permissions change fixes it. -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.1 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages lightdm depends on: ii adduser 3.115 ii dbus 1.10.18-1 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.61 ii libaudit1 1:2.6.7-2 ii libc6 2.24-11+deb9u1 ii libgcrypt20 1.7.6-2+deb9u1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.50.3-2 ii libpam-systemd 232-25+deb9u1 ii libpam0g 1.1.8-3.6 ii libxcb1 1.12-1 ii libxdmcp6 1:1.1.2-3 ii lightdm-gtk-greeter [lightdm-greeter] 2.0.2-1 Versions of packages lightdm recommends: ii xserver-xorg 1:7.7+19 Versions of packages lightdm suggests: ii accountsservice 0.6.43-1 ii upower 0.99.4-4+b1 ii xserver-xephyr 2:1.19.2-1+deb9u1 -- Configuration Files: /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf changed [not included] -- debconf-show failed
