Anyway, you didn't really tell us what works and what doesn't with the package currently in stretch. It's hard to tell whether it's currently totally broken or whether you just need to install some php package alongside it to satisfy other packages's dependencies. I'd tend to think this pu request is about the latter, but you really should be explaining why you want a change in stable in the first place… Thanks KiBi.
