Hello Felix, First of all, I'm sorry for this late answer. I was very busy and I could not take care of mc package during this time. I agree with you, but when you sent your message it was already too late. Debian stretch was in deep freeze. I'm building the new version for sid branch. The better I can do is to backport this new version after some weeks of testing. IMHO this bug is not grave enought to introduce a new version of mc in the next stretch sub version.
