tracker-store is indeed started via /etc/xdg/autostart, like many other service. IIRC a long time ago we actually had D-Bus activation for tracker-store, but people were unhappy because this made it harder to disable tracker if a start was not desired. -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
