Could you try installing the attached debug version of the nvidia-legacy-check package? That should help us understand why it stops before printing an error. Send all output to the bug. (e.g. sudo dpkg -i nvidia-legacy-check_375.66-1+debug_amd64.deb) Thanks Andreas
