I at least see configure called with: --with-openssl-libdir=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu And then outputting: checking for openssl library directory... /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu checking for openssl include directory... /usr/include checking if we will use crypto... yes checking if linking with -lcrypto alone works... yes checking for EVP_MD_do_all_sorted... yes checking if we want to use OpenSSL's crypto random (if available)... yes I have to admit I don't know why it works, why that variable is set. Maybe dpkg-buildpackage sets this by default? Kurt
