Does running this with the following option give the desired behaviour? ssh-askpass -xrm '*grabPointer: True' If so, I suppose that either needs to be documented more clearly, or perhaps the default for that should be changed from False to True, although I'm not sure how that might affect other users -- I have a very vague memory of there being a good reason for that choice of default.
