Dear Maintainer,

I'm attempting to run e2guardian. I have succesfully installed the package, set
up configuration so that it can be started manually using the script in
/etc/init.d and it works.

However, the daemon does not start during system startup. I even don't see a
line in syslog.

What could be wrong?

If your system has "systemd" has PID 1, then use

  systemctl enable e2guardian

to enable e2guardian at boot time. Does that help?

If you have "init" as PID 1, try

  update-rc.d e2guardian defaults

Both commands need root priveleges.
