If disabling that setting doesn't work I'm afraid that the problem has to do with the inner-workings of Gtk. On the other hand does the fact that 0.8 works indicate that there has to be something in my code that triggers the problem. I'll run a diff between both versions and let you know when I have a snapshot to test.

Never touch 0.10, it's exactly the same as 0.11 but has an ugly bug that can make a page disappear :(
