Control: tags -1 jessie
Hi, Actually, it's possible to patch mate-panel in Jessie to fix this. The trick is to make use of 01_tasklist_orientation.patch from libwnck to set the proper orientation of the tasklist. It was already done before for mate-panel 1.12 (see [1]), but the patch never made it to Jessie. Then GTK+3 build of MATE 1.14 came in, mate-panel was switched to libwnck3, so the patch was dropped. I probably won't have the time to work on Jessie right now, so maybe someone else could do it? [1] https://bugs.debian.org/785272
