Ok, this trace shows that probing your devices probing took too long and the daemon decided too bailed out.. (that is after 250 seconds). Is this always the case (as in hald doesn't block forever, just for 250 seconds)? I'm still investigating your trace, but we're coming closer. In the meantime could you generate these traces again, this time adding the -t options (thus {l,s}trace -f -t}.. This will add a time indication, so i can better see what's causing the delay..
