Package: dstat Version: 0.7.3-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I have a bug with my LAN card that makes its statistics in /proc increment by 2**32 continuously when not plugged at all. The issue here is that dstat collects statistics even for this interface. So it looks like this: -net/total- recv send 0 0 4096M 4096M So if i'm connected in wifi with my other interface, I'm unable to use dstat --net to read network usage. gnome-system-monitor isn't fooled like dstat because it skips interfaces with no addresses. Here's my crazy ifconfig output: eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr ... UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:18760417144560 errors:16415365001490 dropped:2345052143070 overruns:2345052143070 frame:7035156429210 TX packets:11725260715350 errors:9380208572280 dropped:0 overruns:2345052143070 carrier:4690104286140 collisions:9380208572280 lg file transmission:1000 RX bytes:2345052143070 (2.1 TiB) TX bytes:2345052143070 (2.1 TiB) -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages dstat depends on: pn python:any <none> dstat recommends no packages. dstat suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
