And that's what is different, the afm-file which contained LMSlanted in lmodern 0.92 is lmbxo10.afm, which now contains LMRoman10-BoldOblique. There is no file containing LMSlanted in the afm-dir. Bug Roman10-DemiBoldItalic comes really close to what LMSlanted10 was looking like, so I have my proper menus back. Thanks for the hints.
