Package: libjson-rpc-perl Version: 1.06-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
recently I tried to remember what Debian package is corresponding to a JSON::RPC module from metacpan, I used apt-cache search for a json (grep rpc, grep perl), yet none of the descriptions made sense. I know that this Perl module supports JSON-RPC 2.0 from 2001 and on, yet the only one with 2.0 in description was libjson-rpc2-perl, which apt-file proved a very different module. libjson-rpc-perl on the other hand turned out to be JSON::RPC despite the wrong description "Perl implementation of JSON-RPC 1.1 protocol" - I belive that one comes straight from pre-2001 versions. Note: check homepage or changelog to see the transition to JSON-RPC 2.0 and obsoletion of 1.1 support Since the module provides both 2.0 and 1.1 (legacy, not supported), the description should be something like "Perl implementation of JSON-RPC 2.0 and 1.1 protocols" -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.7 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.18.19-24 (SMP w/32 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: unable to detect Versions of packages libjson-rpc-perl depends on: ii libclass-accessor-lite-perl 0.06-1 ii libhttp-daemon-perl 6.01-1 ii libhttp-message-perl 6.06-1 ii libjson-perl 2.61-1 ii libplack-perl 1.0033-1 ii librouter-simple-perl 0.15-1 ii libwww-perl 6.08-1 ii perl 5.20.2-3+deb8u6 Versions of packages libjson-rpc-perl recommends: ii libjson-xs-perl 2.340-1+b2 libjson-rpc-perl suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
