Sure, and the contents for this specific field are probably the only ones that makes sense applying variable subsitutions for anyway. I've fixed this now, and queued a patch for 1.19.x. Do you know if there are many such problematic packages in the archive? If so, given that it's a one-liner fix, I might be tempted to try to get it merged in 1.18.x… Thanks, Guillem
