Package: praat Version: 5.4.0-1 Severity: normal Tags: l10n I'm running Praat under an UTF-8 locale and have all the necessary fonts installed. I can see Chinese characters in Praat's text input box (white on top of the screenshot), but not on the annotation area (yellow on bottom):
https://i.stack.imgur.com/0x8RR.png This issue was originally reported by a Ubuntu 16.04 user with praat 6.0.04 [1], who sees the same behavior: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/110904311/Praat.png The manual page says that Chinese characters should be supported in text annotations. There seems to be no option to change the display font of this area.
