IMHO this is something that should definitely be fixed for stretch, raising the severity accordingly. Whenever automake1.11 is already installed (and automake is not) or the dependency resolution prefers automake1.11, the build might be different. Not only FTBFS are possible, the worst case would actually be a successful build resulting in a package with non-trivial differences. With dh compat 10 defaulting to autoreconf, the whole issue affects a lot of packages. And fixing this bug is trivial. > S cu Adrian -- "Is there not promise of rain?"
