Thanks for this additional information; until now I've missed the point that also already existing NBD images should be taken into account. And modifying the initrd for new NBD images should assure that these new ones do work with the [/opt/ltsp/...] stanza, I guess. What about doing it the other way round? Using [opt/ltsp/..] as default; then add the information about needed stanzas in the nbd-server configuration file to support existing images to the d/NEWS file? The workaround concerning the initrd wouldn't be needed in this case? Wolfgang
