After some chat with upstream I can come to you with 2 known bugs: 1. inkscape was never that great when dealing with a huge amount of objects. Your document has 15625 objects. Ref: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/410240 2. if you have some particular dock opened (now, or in the past in the same session, i.e. closing them doesn't help), the performance is pretty bad; I could reproduce having inkscape stuck for more than 10 minutes before I killed it. Apparently this happens with things like the Objects dialog and the XML editor. Refs: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1011726 https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1431274 Do you recognize yourself in one of those situation? Please try to run with a clean profile by: 1. closing all the running instances of inkscape 2. moving ~/.config/inkscape/preferences.xml away (you can reinstate it later) 3. import the .eps and try to ungroup it I'd expect it to take at most one minute. -- regards, Mattia Rizzolo GPG Key: 66AE 2B4A FCCF 3F52 DA18 4D18 4B04 3FCD B944 4540 .''`. more about me: https://mapreri.org : :' : Launchpad user: https://launchpad.net/~mapreri `. `'` Debian QA page: https://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=mattia `-
