For the benefit of people reading this: The problem has been reported upstream repeatedly:
https://www.playonlinux.com/de/issue-5043.html https://www.playonlinux.com/en/issue-4940.html The latter of those is over two years old. Doesn't look as if anyone cares enough. I have a 2560x1440 laptop screen and playonlinux is unusable as shipped by Debian. The first report linked above points to a workaround: --- /usr/share/playonlinux/python/lib/Variables.py 2016-04-09 16:03:37.000000000 +0200 +++ /tmp/Variables.py 2017-03-11 09:04:02.795008276 +0100 @@ -49,7 +49,7 @@ windows_add_size = 0 windows_add_playonmac = 0 else: - windows_add_size = 25 + windows_add_size = 100 windows_add_playonmac = 0 widget_borders = wx.RAISED_BORDER I can confirm that this resolves the issue with my screen size, at least to the degree that the buttons become visible again and any functionality is available at all. Sure thing that this isn't a general solution, but better than nothing. -- Michael Hanke GPG: 4096R/C073D2287FFB9E9B http://psychoinformatics.de
