Try this:
file -> new
then try recording - for me, it first reports "out of memory" and right after it says "invalid file format"
but when I try to change the file format, the choice box is all greyed out.
This has nothing to do with libraries. It seems OSS recording is broken,
but it is still possible to record via ALSA. I currently don't have time
too debug it, I will try to do it during the week.
Also, for the "about kwave" it reports "using kde 3.4.3". "about kde" reports
3.5.1.
Yes, that's because Kwave has been built against KDE 3.4.3 libraries,
but it is compatible with KDE 3.5.1.
