Package: memcached
Version: 1.4.31-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

After adding the option: "-P /var/run/memcached.pid" to '/etc/memcached.conf',
I get the following error:

systemd-memcached-wrapper[2577]: Could not open the pid file
/var/run/memcached.pid.tmp for writing: Permission denied

Can you please provide a decent option for allowing a pidfile to be set?

I've found a similar bug report for Ubuntu from 2013-05, but no solution.
Also this similar bug report is still open and still the /etc/init.d/memcached
file is supplied with the package although it isn't used because of the systemd
wrapper. (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=784357)

Regards,
  Teun Kloosterman
