Do you have any examples of situations where you see this issue? Please list the exact commands you have used to reproduce this. It is likely that the issue you are seeing is one of two things: * The Linux kernel not returning the information you want it to. * The processes that are doing writes disappearing before the timer. > The interactive mode is not useful for this, since its entries disappear. Please try it anyway. BTW: iotop and iostat are quite different programs that are not comparable.
