Package: pqiv Version: 2.6-1 I did just release pqiv 2.8. Instead of just bumping the version and reusing the same package template, please consider using the attached control and rules files.
pqiv has, and has had for some versions now, support for using ImageMagick, libav/ffmpeg, Poppler, Spectre and libarchive to support more file formats. It is possible to compile the additional backends into shared libraries that are pulled in at runtime with silent failure, allowing to build against all backends, but declare the runtime dependencies as optional. It would be great to include the backends in the package. My proposed changes to the package would make use of this feature on Linux, and fall back to compiling a single binary with hard dependencies on any other platform. The other proposed change is an update in the short and long description, also contained in the attached control file. I changed the homepage to the github page as well, as I update it much more frequently. Feel free to reuse only parts of my proposed changes.
