The libldap2 package has all its files in the right place; it is a curl bug to be dlopen()ing libldap.so instead of libldap.so.2. This is self-evident if you consider the meaning of the library soname -- just because curl doesn't link against libldap does not mean that it will keep working when the library ABI changes.
Since libldap-dev is also only a suggests, this is also not a very high-priority bug in curl. -- Steve Langasek postmodern programmer
