Package: installer Version: Wheezy Severity: important --- Please enter the report below this line. --- Wheezy amd64 7.9.0 DVD, optical drive with DVD on SATA9 port on the main board, another optical drive on SATA8. All other drives removed, also no USB sticks around.
Installation progress is ok until "Configure apt". This shows a red screen. No question for additional DVDs ..., you can go on, installation also does not write grub and is not usable. Took me some tries and wasted some media since I thought the image might be bad, then switched the cables, and guess what, the installation works. Looks like that for some reason the installer during "Configure apt" tries to read the other drive that has the lower port number and may be the higher priority and naturally fails since the DVD remains in the other drive. I would expect that the installer keeps the information which drive hosts the installation media. Hope my description is sufficient.
