Could you add -DPython_ADDITIONAL_VERSIONS=3 to your dh_auto_configure arguments? This is needed to build correctly when python2 is present (which is the case for Ubuntu even with a clean chroot). By the way, chrome-gnome-shell 8.1 was released today. Thanks, Jeremy
