We just discussed this issue on IRC, the flaw behind this bug is in smarty-lexer, not smarty3. So reassigning.

@OpenSides.be: from IRC I learned, that you see failing unit tests without the first patch applied. But what else?
For the record, after this issue has been fixed in unstable, smarty3 needs a binNMU (i.e. needs to be re-built).
