As we all know this program is unusable when you have taskbar in the bottom of
the screen (#341303). IMHO 90% of all users have it here.
How did they manage to override default gtk behaviour of such menus?

Anyway...

If the GUI is unusable, maybe it will be good to have some CLI interface for
basic operations like:
$ instanbul --start_recording

....recording stopped.
