full freeze doesn't mean we wont get needed changes into the release. ;) You don't change some binary and not security related stuff here, I don't believe the release team won't accept a unblock request as the changes are needed for a smooth working package flow. First step would be do a normal upload with only these changes. If the delay is over then please open a unblock request against release.debian.org You can look into similar old requests within the bugtracker. For example the request from Mike for libhttp-daemon-ssl-perl, reportbug will do most for you with the filling. You need to use debdiff for creating the diff. The diff will getting small as you only change debian/control and debian/changelog. https://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2017/01/msg00509.html Note also the hints from the release team. https://release.debian.org/stretch/freeze_policy.html > I can also prepare the corrected version for Stretch-Backports. You mean Jessie? Not needed in a first glance, Christoph will upload the next version of src:icedove to stable-security maybe as the new transitioned packages. But you can change your package safely as it has no downsides at all. -- Regards Carsten Schoenert
