I'm maybe not the typical user, but because I turn off installing
recommends by default, I'm very used to checking the Recommends field of
any package I'm using, when it doesn't work the way I expect, and seeing
if there's something I need to install. I would hope that most people who
chose the non-default option of turning off Recommends would do the same.
