Package: libgetopt++ Version: 0.0.2-p22-3.1 Severity: wishlist User: debian...@lists.debian.org Usertags: proposed-removal Control: block -1 by 851301
libgetopt++ has a release-critical bug which appears to be gcc detecting a long-standing logic error. Its last maintainer upload was in 2009 and it has subsequently been removed from testing several times. I can't find an upstream; its documentation refers to being maintained in either CVS (README) or Arch (debian/copyright), which suggests that it may not have been actively maintained since those VCSs were the state of the art. I think we should consider removing this package from Debian so people don't spend more time on NMUing it. config-manager would need to be removed too (#851301). If you agree, please reassign this bug to the archive administrators by sending these commands to cont...@bugs.debian.org, replacing nnnnnn with the bug number: severity nnnnnn normal reassign nnnnnn ftp.debian.org retitle nnnnnn RM: libgetopt++ -- RoQA; RC-buggy, appears dead upstream thanks Conversely, if you think this package should remain in Debian, please close this bug (and fix the package's RC bug). Thanks, S
