I would enjoy working on dselect. Unfortunately it is rather badly entangled with the dpkg source, and I do not enjoy working on it in this situation. I have tried, but failed, to disentangle it into a separate source package. If someone manages to do that, get back to me and I'll help work on improving dselect.
