Package: apticron Tags: patch Dear apticron maintainer,
the two small patches linked at the end of this email add to apticron the files needed to * create a separate `apticron-systemd` binary package; * run apticron via systemd timer units instead of cron. Installing systemd timer units is more convenient than having to deal with cron jobs in the maintainer scripts. In addition, users can more easily modify the scheduling of apticron without touching package-installed configuration files. Thanks to debhelper 9, the `apticron-systemd` package can be built and installed without maintscripts and is composed only of few files. The apticron-systemd binary package is generated from the same source package of apticron. The executable itself is copied in both packages. Patch 1 (use debhelper 9): https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/users/gioele-guest/apticron.git/commit/?id=d6ac6c3326ee08785518ed71a30193cb36b16532 Patch 2 (add and setup systemd files): https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/users/gioele-guest/apticron.git/commit/?id=3ef921bb18c0fc96d1feb147ef38968e2bdb7dd2 Regards, -- Gioele Barabucci <gio...@svario.it>
