Hi,

I have a test app doing some simple console output that seems
to be mostly ok with wine (more on that elsewhere in a moment),
though if I run it with wineconsole (which I'd never used before)
it does basically the same thing, except the output is bold, and
it permanently mangles the multi-gnome-terminal window I ran it
from to think it has (at a guess) 25 rows when it is considerably
larger than that.

Can't speak for MSYS or clisp, but a simple app doing printf to
console via stderr/stdout doesn't reproduce the problem reported,
and I'm not sure what wineconsole is really supposed to do.
Aside from the (different) problem above it seemed to act basically
as might be expected from its name.

Nor do I see what this really had to do with mingw either.
If wineconsole is broken, and fixing it is useful, that is one problem.
But wine itself seems to have no particular trouble with mingw that
I would expect to go away if I used a different compiler.

In fact it runs basic apps well enough that for some time now I have
been using only it to confirm that the mingw cross builds themselves
are serviceable enough for wider release...

So... I would venture to say we can close this one. The original
problem doesn't seem to be an issue anymore (at least I can't
reproduce it with a 'native' mingw app) -- and if there are still
other problems with wineconsole, they should probably be detailed
more specifically as a new report anyway.

hth,
Ron
