Package: libguestfs0 Version: 1:1.34.3-5 Severity: serious Hi,
It seems that some utilities inside and/or outside of the appliance to extract data and/or icons from Fedora/RHEL/CentOS and Windows are missing. Inside the appliance, I see the following message: /init: line 138: ldmtool: command not found ldmtool seems to be a "tool for managing Microsoft Windows dynamic disks". I guess it should be copied inside of the appliance. Outside of the appliance (on the host), when inspecting a CentOS machine, It seems that the db-tool package should be added to the dependencies, it is used to extract the RPM list from the VM. If this executable is missing the introspection is completely failing with: libguestfs: error: /usr/bin/db_dump exited with error status 1. Also when inspecting a windows VM, I see that libguestfs uses wrestool and also multiple tools from the netpbm package. So, IMHO: - ldmtool should be added to the dependencies and installed inside of the appliance - db-tool package should be added to the dependencies - wrestool and netpbm packages should be added to the dependencies or Recommends Regards, Laurent Bigonville -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers unstable-debug APT policy: (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental-debug'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.8.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_BE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_BE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages libguestfs0 depends on: ii acl 2.2.52-3 ii attr 1:2.4.47-2 ii binutils 2.27.51.20161220-1 ii bsdmainutils 9.0.12 ii btrfs-progs 4.7.3-1 ii btrfs-tools 4.7.3-1 ii bzip2 1.0.6-8 ii cpio 2.11+dfsg-6 ii cryptsetup 2:1.7.3-3 ii curl 7.51.0-1 ii diffutils 1:3.5-1 ii dosfstools 4.0-2 ii extlinux 3:6.03+dfsg-14 ii file 1:5.29-2 ii gawk 1:4.1.3+dfsg-0.1+b1 ii gdisk 1.0.1-1 ii genisoimage 9:1.1.11-3 ii grub2-common 2.02~beta3-3 ii iproute2 4.9.0-1 ii isc-dhcp-client 4.3.5-1 ii kmod 23-2 ii less 481-2.1 ii libacl1 2.2.52-3 ii libaugeas0 1.2.0-0.3+b1 ii libc6 2.24-8 ii libcap2 1:2.25-1 ii libfuse2 2.9.7-1 ii libhivex0 1.3.13-2+b2 ii libmagic1 1:5.29-2 ii libpcre3 2:8.39-2 ii libselinux1 2.6-3 ii libsystemd0 232-8 ii libtsk13 4.3.1-2 ii libvirt0 2.5.0-3 ii libxml2 2.9.4+dfsg1-2.1 ii libyajl2 2.1.0-2 ii lsscsi 0.27-3 ii lvm2 2.02.168-1 ii lzop 1.03-4 ii mdadm 3.4-4 ii mtools 4.0.18-2 ii ntfs-3g 1:2016.2.22AR.1-3 ii openssh-client 1:7.4p1-1 ii parted 3.2-17 ii procps 2:3.3.12-3 ii psmisc 22.21-2.1+b1 ii qemu-system-x86 1:2.8+dfsg-1 ii qemu-utils 1:2.8+dfsg-1 ii scrub 2.6.1-1 ii sgabios 0.0~svn8-3 ii sleuthkit 4.3.1-2 ii supermin 5.1.17-4 ii syslinux 3:6.03+dfsg-14 ii systemd 232-8 ii udev 232-8 ii xz-utils 5.2.2-1.2 ii zerofree 1.0.4-1 Versions of packages libguestfs0 recommends: ii libguestfs-hfsplus 1:1.34.3-5 ii libguestfs-reiserfs 1:1.34.3-5 ii libguestfs-xfs 1:1.34.3-5 Versions of packages libguestfs0 suggests: pn libguestfs-gfs2 <none> pn libguestfs-jfs <none> pn libguestfs-nilfs <none> pn libguestfs-rescue <none> pn libguestfs-rsync <none> pn libguestfs-zfs <none> -- no debconf information
