Package: gnunet
Version: 0.10.1-4
Severity: normal

Hi Bertrand,

I'm a Whonix OS dev (an anonymity OS based on Debian stable) and we are looking at shipping GNUnet to our users. From my experiments the version in stable is not current enough to connect to the network. I confirmed this with the upstream devs - their release cycle is too rapid for stable freezes and they end up making non-backwards compatible changes regularly. Can you please consider maintaining a stable-backports version of the latest release?

I also gauged interest for hosting GNUnet exits with torservers.net (anon-profit dedicated hosting Tor exits) and they are on board but the only obstacle is getting access to fresher releases on stable.

Thanks
