Package: git-annex
Version: 6.20161012-1
Severity: normal

I'm on stretch with git 1:2.11.0-1. The following fails:

| weasel@orinoco:~/tmp$ md test
| weasel@orinoco:~/tmp/test$ mkdir t1
| weasel@orinoco:~/tmp/test$ echo fo > t1/'foo bax'
| weasel@orinoco:~/tmp/test$ git init
| Initialized empty Git repository in /home/weasel/.temp/2016-12-12/test/.git/
| [git|master] weasel@orinoco:~/tmp/test$ git annex init orinoco
| init orinoco ok
| (recording state in git...)
| [git|master] weasel@orinoco:~/tmp/test$ git annex add t1
| add t1/foo bax git-annex: unknown response from git cat-file ("HEAD:./t1/foo
bax missing",Ref "HEAD:./t1/foo bax")
| e1:[git|master] weasel@orinoco:~/tmp/test$

It probably should not fail. It does not fail when the file in t1 does not
have that space in its name.

Cheers,
