Same problem here, but setting PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC does not help. I tried to set this variable to some values and on high values (100..1000) it seems that the problem occurs less often, but it still occurs. A workaround that works for me is bypassing pulseaudio: - add the user to the 'audio' group (if it is not already there) and relogin - in audacity, use the ALSA device for playback
