Source: live-wrapper Severity: wishlist It would be nice to have lwr generate net-bootable images. live-build used to have a `--binary-images netboot` option and while I am not *exactly* sure how it works, it seems to create a tarball that we can then deploy on a TFTP server...
I *may* be possible to boot the ISO image from a tftp server directly, with a hack like syslinux's ISO support, but I never really got this to work reliably. I am trying to migrate my live image from debirf - which can generate a ISO image or a initrd with everything inside. I wonder if vmdebootstrap could do a similar magic to build a simple vmlinuz/initrd combination with all we need... -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.6 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'proposed-updates'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.7.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system)
