Package: udev Version: 0.083-1 I'm using debian unstable and tried to install the udev package. Hotplug removed fine, but then i got an error that i should purge my old udev installation (i didn't have udev installed - i installed it ca. one year ago for a test but removed it again (without a purge...)). So i decided to #rm /etc/udev and the error was gone, but now i have got a new one:
Unpacking udev (from .../archives/udev_0.083-1_i386.deb) ... ln: creating symbolic link `/etc/udev/rules.d/z55_hotplug.rules' to `../hotplug.rules': No such file or directory dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/udev_0.083-1_i386.deb (--unpack): subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/udev_0.083-1_i386.deb E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) So what does udev try to do here? I don't have /etc/udev anymore - shouldn't udev create it? Hope this bug is not my own fault. Regards, Tobias
