Package: softhsm2-common Version: 2.2.0~rc2-1 Severity: normal Dear maintainer:
I had both softhsm and softhsm2 installed for a while. I recently purged softhsm-common in an attempt to clean up my system, and i believe that the postrm script of softhsm-common did a "delgroup softhsm" As a result, dpkg failed completely on subsequent attempts with: dpkg: unrecoverable fatal error, aborting: unknown group 'softhsm' in statoverride file sure enough, "dpkg-statoverride --list" showed: root softhsm 640 /etc/softhsm/softhsm2.conf To work around this, i had to do: dpkg-statoverride --remove /etc/softhsm/softhsm2.conf dpkg-reconfigure softhsm2-common I think the problem i ran into probably lies in the postrm of the softhsm-common package (which is no longer installed), but the same behavior might cause trouble in the postrm of softhsm2-common. --dkg -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing-debug APT policy: (500, 'testing-debug'), (500, 'testing'), (200, 'unstable-debug'), (200, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental-debug'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.8.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages softhsm2-common depends on: ii ucf 3.0036 softhsm2-common recommends no packages. softhsm2-common suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
