Package: devscripts
Version: 2.9.11
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

I am trying to use uscan to watch for new releases of software which
I do not used in the Debian packaged form. This implies the absence of
a debian/ directory.

I have the following watch file

----
version=3

http://www.splitbrain.org/projects/dokuwiki (?:.*/)?dokuwiki-([-0-9]+)\.tgz\?.*
2005-09-22 uupdate
----

uscan insists on getting an upstream version:
$ uscan --report-status --watchfile watch --package dokuwiki
uscan: --package requires the use of --upstream-version and --watchfile
as well; run uscan --help for more details
which it then promptly ignores:
$ uscan --report-status --watchfile watch --package dokuwiki --upstream-version
foo
Processing watchfile line for package dokuwiki...
Newest version on remote site is 2005-09-22, local version is 2005-09-22
=> Package is up to date

uscan should only insist on an upstream-version on the command line if
it is not given in the watch file.

Greetings
Marc
