I *think* it's just a bug in the HTML that gets generated, but not a "real"
problem.

I tried the whole process myself, and got the same result. However I just
realized that most probably the issue is actually a stupid one: when you
get to this step 3, in the "Login name:" field of the form you have to
append "-guest" to your user name. For example:

Login name:
[mathiasertl-guest]

Password:
[******]

(or "mathiasertl2-guest" if you use the confirmation URL from your second
attempt).

I'm afraid it's not obvious at all, but I hope it will solve the problem.
Please let me know if it is the case.
